Independent Living at Amenida is for active, self-sufficient seniors who are ready to leave behind the demands of home ownership and step into a vibrant, worry-free community. What's included in my monthly fee?
One simple monthly fee covers your suite, three chef-prepared meals daily, all housekeeping and linen service, utilities, and full access to Amenida's amenities and social programming. No surprise bills. No hidden costs.
What does daily life look like at Amenida?

Can my care needs change over time?

If more hands-on assistance ever becomes necessary, we'll work with you and your family to seamlessly transition to our Assisted Living program, right here in the same community you know and love.
What is Assisted Living?
Assisted Living at Amenida gives residents access to personalized, day-to-day support — without giving up the community life, dining, activities, and independence they value. Our care team gets to know every resident as an individual, providing just the right level of assistance so they can continue living as fully and freely as possible.
What kind of support is provided?
Our trained care staff provide personalized assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and medication management. Care is always delivered with respect and discretion — support happens quietly in the background so daily life can continue in the foreground.
How is the care plan created?
Before move-in, our care team conducts a thorough assessment with the resident and their family to understand their needs, preferences, routines, and goals. From this, a personalized care plan is developed — and reviewed regularly to ensure it always reflects the resident's current situation.
Is it the same community as Independent Living?
Yes. Assisted Living residents are full members of the Amenida community. They enjoy the same dining room, the same amenities, the same social programming, and the same neighbours. The care support is simply added in — it doesn't separate or isolate. Everyone belongs here.
How do families stay informed?
We believe families are partners in care. Our team provides regular updates, and family members are always welcome to speak directly with our care staff. Care plan reviews are scheduled with families to ensure everyone is aligned and that the resident's needs continue to be fully met.
What is a Respite Stay?
A Respite Stay is a short-term, fully supported visit to Amenida — available for seniors who are recovering from a hospital stay or illness, for families whose primary caregiver needs a well-deserved break, or for those simply wanting to experience Amenida community life before making a long-term decision. Guests receive the same attentive care and warm hospitality as our permanent residents.
How long can a Respite Stay last?
Stays are flexible and can range from a few days to several weeks, depending on your needs. There is no long-term commitment required. If a guest decides they'd like to make Amenida their permanent home during their stay, we make that transition as smooth as possible.
What's included during the stay?
Respite guests stay in a private furnished suite and enjoy three meals daily in our dining room, personalized care and medication support, housekeeping, and full access to Amenida's amenities and activities. Everything is included in a single, straightforward daily rate — no surprises.
Is this a good option for caregiver burnout?
Absolutely — and we want families to feel comfortable asking. Caring for a loved one is deeply meaningful, but it's also demanding. A Respite Stay gives family caregivers the space to rest, travel, or simply breathe, with complete confidence that their loved one is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. This isn't giving up — it's taking care of everyone.
Can a Respite Stay turn into a permanent move?
Yes, and it happens more often than you'd think. Many of our residents first came to Amenida for a short stay and decided they never wanted to leave. If you or your loved one falls in love with the community during a Respite Stay, our team will happily guide you through the next steps.
What is Lifetime Residence?
Lifetime Residence at Amenida offers the best of both worlds — the flexibility of renting and the security of a real investment. Through our life lease program, residents enjoy a full community lifestyle with minimal monthly rent while benefiting from up to 6% annual return on their investment. And unlike traditional ownership, there are no property taxes, realtor fees, or strata fees — ever.
How long is the life lease agreement?
Life lease agreements at Amenida last for five years. Residents can cancel at any time or choose to extend their lump-sum lease plan if needed. We understand that life changes, and our agreements are designed with that flexibility in mind. (Offer is subject to availability.)
Can I terminate the contract before my five years are up?
Yes. Amenida offers flexible termination options even after a fixed-term contract is signed. With three months' notice, residents can receive 92% of their life lease deposit back — no need to wait out the full term. Your investment is protected.
Will my monthly rates stay the same?
Once you lock in your package, your monthly rent stays consistent for the duration of your term. Your costs are predictable, your budget is protected, and there are no unexpected increases tied to the market. (Monthly charges are subject to revision only if required by Amenida.)
